Description
Welsummers
Welsummers are friendly, intelligent and easily handled birds that love to free range and forage for food but can also be kept in runs quite happily.Welsummer chickens are known for their timeless appeal and productive nature. Roosters are red and black, adding a touch of vibrancy to any backyard. The hens, equally attractive with their rich tones, are renowned for their egg-laying capabilities. Their eggs are particularly notable—large, dark brown, often with beautiful speckling that sets them apart from other breeds.
Temperament
Beyond their beauty, Welsummers are recognized for their friendly temperament. They are active birds that enjoy foraging but remain calm and approachable, making them ideal for families or small-scale poultry keepers.
Adaptability
Welsummers are medium-to-large birds, known for their upright posture, broad back, and full tail.
